My timing cover is covered in thick dirt an old oil. I know im going to have to clean up as best I can to be able to find the source (hopefully).
Are there any areas that are more common for gasket/seals to fail?
The timing cover is dirty all over but seems wetter lower down, belts are clean, fan is also partly covered but old build up nothing fresh on it. Power steering box is covered too. Front of drivers side engine is splattered with old build up but nothing on the passenger side.
Im wanting to remove the aircon rad soon. So maybe ill use that as a good time to drain and remove the main rad to give me access to clean and change gaskets in one job.
Also has anybody got any tips on cleaning the build up off? Got some degreaser and a brush but access seems to be my main hurdle to a proper clean up.
