Black Pearl lost some more weight today  dropped the tank and back axle so we could carry out more undercarriage works.
In the process I found that suprise suprise the LSV is goosed. I've binned it already and cleaned up the areas it used to live. So now I need some sort of brake bias compensator as found in the newer trucks. Does anyone have one and can show me where it is ?

My old 1999 SWB & this 2005 LWB both never had the LSV fitted:augie brake line runs a long the floor to the flexy for the rear axle then it's T'ed to each rear wheel so don't think you need to add any thing but will have another look under mine tomorrow to make sure

Could you check the master cylinder area too . There may be a compensator there. If not you may have a different master cylinder :nenau
Cheers Sweety :p I love saying that :thumbs

Hmm I can't picture anything like that under mine??

What do these compensators look like :nenau

Mine is a 95 Mav, mine has one, it is mouted on the rear chassis near side, and has a long spring attached to the rear axle.
The more laden the rear... the less tension on the spring, hence the valve.. I think..

I just wondered, if vehicles with anti lock brakes do not require them, so it's only the earlier vehicles.:nenau

It's a brake compensating valve attached to a lever and a dirty great spring. You should have modded it if it was there when you lifted your suspension :thumb2

im sure my 97 model with abs had one.
I know my 95 without abs did and so did my 97 without abs.
the 2000 one I have now with abs hasn't got one:nenau

you can get them from milners.

Fez , you should know by now that the mod miester needs not std kit :naughty
Thinking of keeping it simple but then again I just might go manual bias and hydraulic HB :sly

Dam can't edit :doh
Also , manual bias and hydraulic hb still cheaper than LSV :D

Just had a look under mine for you Pete & mine hasn't got the LSV fitted & can't find anything like a compensator, The master cylinder only has 2 pipes coming from it which go to the ABS pump. The LSV seems to be like the EGR valves nissan fitted them to some but not all:augie oh my old SWB had no ABS or the LSV

My 99 has borh ABS and the valve. It is on the o/s just in front of fuel tank and can just be seen through the gap between body and suspension just to the front of rear wheel.

There is a section in the workshop manual all about how to adjust it after the suspension lift.

Most of the time they are seized solid so don't work anyway :lol

I found that out about 4 years back. My disc pads were wearing out in months. Rear shoes were new :lol
I fixed it once, but after sitting in retirement for 3 years the LSV has most defiantly gone to make it's maker

I liberated one on my very first terrano with a hammer and oil.
On my second one it looked new and adjusted fine when I did the suspension lift and I never bothered on my third one as the brakes where brilliant so if it broke as they say.
I am now lsv free as this one hasn't got one fitted.

Deed done now, hydraulic handbrake and adjustable bias valve ordered :D
