Well the Nissan R3mR is doing some good runs this month last week it was France for the wine shopping next Friday its a long weekend away in Ludo. (for short - very old tatoo joke)

Her indoors has booked a nice Hotel for us and the Outlaws so I am looking forwards to some serious rain and sand blasted legs from beach sand. At least that what I got when I used to go as a boy to anywhere in Wales. Expect little and then you are never disappointed.

I am not saying its a long time since I did a Welsh Break but I do remeber all the pubs were shut on Sundays last time I crossed the border!

Fully expect everyone to start speaking Welsh if we go for a drink in the local as a sign of hospitality!

No sterotyping for me then lol.

Not in Llandudno....its full of mancunians and scousers LOL....but a good old-fashioned seaside town, the likes of which you don't find much these days.

yup, there are no Welsh in Llandudno, its a really lovely place though, we like trekking up the Orm.

Anglesey was the last place to close the pubs on sunday (probably to indulge the islands other name :naughty)that must have been about 20 years ago so what kept you away from our fair & pleasent land ? I have obviously been here too long

What has kept me away from UK holidays?
To be honest like most things in life it was down to cost.
Back in 1970 I went to the Costa Brava for 2 weeks full board for £49.19 shillings and 11 p for the two of us and it was brilliant weather.
A UK static caravan holiday used to cost as much as that!

Since then have done the usual European destinantions various Greek Islands, Canaries, Baleric Islands, Malta, etc etc now in older age have found its no longer cheap as costs have risen steadily, the jouney times take a day off each end of the break and if the flights are delayed its just too stressful.

Now I am 63 a sun tan is not something I aspire to- just good food & beer with good old fashioned hospitality. When I was earning a good wage the rising costs went hand in hand with rising affluence so just did more of the same. Now semi-retired need to look at less expensive options so its down to costs again.

Now started doing short UK breaks for the last few years with just one week in Majorca at the start or end of the season.

The biggest PITA when abroad is usually other Brits.:doh

If I was the King, people would have to apply for licences to breed, travel abroad and, in some cases, leave their houses unaccompanied.:augie

I would make the licence scheme not just pricey like VEL duty but include a written examination! lol

LOL wheres my velcrow gloves

Well the R3mR ran beautifully, the Hotel was OK and the weather was brilliant. Weatherspoons was round the corner and the Carlton Pub over the road.

Eat and drank in pleasant excess - next time were trying Conwy hopefully in August for our 35 th wedding anniversary.

Never mind the sheep there was plenty of eye candy!
