I know a lot of people aren't keen on white lettering on their tyres, but I like it:thumb2 one thing that has always bugged me about white lettering is that over time it starts looking really dirty & those white tyre pens are useless & very messy:doh Then I remembered how 4x4 tyres are constructed (The sidewalls have a thick band of white rubber under the black) so grabbed some 800 wet&dry sand paper soaked it in some hot soapy water & gave the letter a light rub & sure enough all the muck ground into the white lettering came off making them look new again:thumb2 (you would take more rubber off scrapping a tyre against a kerb while parking)
How they were to start with after being on the truck a year

I did the same, but used some JIF cream and a soft cloth.

Never thought of trying that:lol just hoping the weather is ok on Saturday as need to give the truck a good wash & polish & slap some peanut butter on the black plastic's which will most likely be the last time before the winter:augie

Does the peanut butter return the "black"? I used some Silicon that Wickes sell for joining guttering, and it brings the bumper up, but the stuff that has the light grey colour stays just a darker grey, not back to a nice black. I tried using a heat gun, which is good, but it does not last.

Linseed oil I've read is supposed to be good never tried it myself:augie I've used smooth peanut butter for years (cheap stuff & jar lasts me around 4 years) just rub it on let it soak in while going around motor then rub off & buff up give a nice satin finish:thumb2 TBH you'll never get the bumpers perfectly black unless you paint them as the plastic of the bumper is infact very dark grey:augie had the same bumpers/arches as you on my last one had to do them a few times to build up the colour but came out great:thumb2 water just beeded on the plastic's & ran off only downside I found was the cat living next door to my parents liked to have the sly lick of my bumper:lol:lol:lol

That's it im cleaning the Patrol tomorrow and trying that on my tires:D

For cleaning white lettering, lightly spray a cloth with brake cleaner wipe the white lettering.:thumb2
Wear gloves though.
