The reversing lights on the above are not good, one bulb one side only. I want to fit another on the other side and have opted for a 12V LED self contained unit, I intend to fit it towards the offside using a piece of threaded rod. If I drill a 6mm hole in the fairly substantial box section (To which the removable tow hitch socket is attached) will it weaken it significantly?

Where is the easiest place to pick up the feed to the existing reversing light?

I dont have any front fog lights, the holes in the bumper have pastic caps in them, I think the wiring is there.

Where is the switch located? I have several blanks on the centre dash adjacent to the ESM switch.

Has anyone added them to a base model? is the CAN programming there? Is the relay there?

If you are thinking of drilling a hole in a EU approved tow bar assembly, then don't.

The approval is based on fatigue tests, and depending on where you drill it can affect the results. Consequently if you have an accident, the tow bar will be deemed non approved, and any insurance claims questioned.

I have seen people add clamps around the bar, for similar applications.

In the end I used an existing hole, puts it nearer than I like to the exhaust but no nearer than the plastic bumper. It is nice and bright. I wired it in behind the near side rear light cluster.
