light rails....

My next job is to make a light rail,I have already got my lights sorted.
Why did I buy a terrano? nothings easy as you cant buy off the shelf mods:nenau

if I can knock 5 up at once is there anyone interested?
cheapest ive seen is thirteen quidish for a length of steel tube about 6'ish
I will shop around as that's b&Q price.
it will need bending,flattening,shaping,drilling and plastic coating.
Im not sure of the cost of plastic coating. but maybe 20 quid?

the price with your help with shoping would be the total cost of raw material +postage and the cost between the other 4 would be to make mine for free.
total cost at a guess would be about 60 quid? including post.

but this is a total guess at price and I don't want to be out of pocket

just give my a yes if your interested and I will start to shop around

You could just span the roof rails with steel bar & clamp it in place, I did this on my disco 2 & it worked well & looked ok

Only mine is on clamps so detachable :thumbs

Aldi and Lidl do roof bars, [pair] <£30 I think, machine mart about the same, including lockable clamps.

the rail I am making will sit just above the window and bolt onto the roof.
I didn't want to fix it to the roof bars or they would sit behind the sunroof.
and with putting ladders on and off constantly they would get too knocked about.

i had some on my old truck i just used a roof bar and screwed it in the door frame area
