So we went over the water to the Mainland yesterday for a family day out.
As there are a few small parts i need for the Terrano thought I would see if anyone is breaking a Terrano close by. Found one yard, slight diversion but close enough to persuade the missus that it was a good idea as he confirmed had all the parts there that I needed and told me they would be ready for me to just collect. Exactly what I needed as i was in smart clothes and short of time. Get there to have traipse through a scrap yard to a Terrano buried under another car with none parts that I need on it. And if they had of been there I would of had to wait whist he took them off. Which would of been interesting to watch someone get a sidestep bracket off a truck in the dirt with no wheels on and a car on top of it surrounded by 20 other cars.
I took an hour out of a family day for nothing because someone could not be bothered to check when I asked if they definitely had the parts and just lied. Girlfriend not happy at the waste of time as we are always on a time limit for the ferries.

Bad news indeed, what bits you looking for? Rick

"It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission" seems to be the mantra that many people seem to follow. Essentially I think that people generally seems to find shitty behaviour acceptable.
That,or I'm getting old and more like Victor Meldrew... :)

Sorry to be comforted by your bad experience but I literally just thought it was me that got into these crappy situations :doh

I would have given him some strong words and departed pronto, what a knob

I think you may be right about people, some businesses and people seem to be not bothered in the slightest about providing quality customer service and the pride of working towards and maintaining a good reputation.

Not a Meldrew thing :lol just it seems the way things seem to be going.

The annoying thing was that there was barely an apology. Just a mumble about maybe, perhaps sourcing the parts. To be honest I was so frustrated I just mentioned the "definitely" in my original communication and my wasted time and money and left. Car did not need the air con on as the atmosphere was frosty enough for the first mile.

Hi Rick,

Mine Terrano is a 2000 facelift model on a W plate.

I was hoping to buy a Drivers Side Front Seat Belt. My webbing has developed a bad fray and needs replacing. I got it through last years MOT with a lighter but beyond that now. Not sure if you can re-thread new webbing through so was going for a whole new unit and also as it is a worn pillar mount that caused the fray.

The other thing is a Passenger Side Rear Most Side Step Bracket. Mine has rusted and snapped. I have young kids so need the steps. I have the alloy steps with the grey plastic ends.

Obviously if you did have these parts and happy to sell then money up front is fine with me :thumb2

Cheers for asking.

Do not think I can help with the step bracket (a pic would help) re seat belt you will have pre-tensioners which I do not have but I do have belts which can be changed, are yours grey or black? they come with the pillar mount fitted (used) they are easily changed on the original bobbin if you follow the steps I can give, belt in good condition £10 plus p & p, Rick

Hi Rick,
