First of all, I'm having issues with flickering LEDs but these are NOT the bulbs supplied by Sweety. I first replaced the 501 sidelights earlier this year, after a few weeks or so one of the LEDs in the cluster started flickering/flashing. I wasnt happy with the output of this style of bulb so got a pair of the bulbs that are a cube shape. Today Ive noticed one of these LEDs has started doing the same.

Im assuming that a bulb doing that wont pass MOT so thatll need sorting.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Almost had heart failure when I read the heading:lol the only thing I can think of is the one of the LED's dieing, are the SND type. I had the flickering with some old interior LED bulbs just before they died but they were the normal type ones not SND LED's

It seems to be something the white and blue LED's do when they get older. I believe that when the supply voltage is too low, the way the driver works, makes them start to flash.

I took some of mine that were doing it, apart one time, and they are very badly made inside. 1 was your conventional style of LED, with a resistor in one lead. The lead of the LED, was cut very short, and the end of the resistor was the same, then they had just put a bit of heat shrink over it, with out soldering it, and just the fact that the 2 wires were touching was all that was making the electrical connection.

The second one, was a more expensive one, which used a constant current driver board, and again, the only connection between the LED and the driver board, was a couple of contact points, that had corroded up. When I cleaned it up, and re-soldered it, it was working fine again, but I had mangled the case to get to it, so could not use it as a bulb again.

Dont worry Sweety as said earlier they are not the ones bought from you pal.

Well the first one to do this is what I would call standard LED with plastic dome type casing, think there was about six of the to one bulb if I remember right. The second type is a cube shaped bulb with a single flat LED sort of a yellow colour on each side of the cube. I have once had an LED torch that did the same. As Clive says its probably a white led thing and as expected yeah they will be cheaply made.

I had this with interior lights bulbs off ebay, I had 3 further bulbs sent out and the last one sent out has been in there a couple of years now.
My son has 501's which don't last and flicker, then die
