Well I finally welded up my bad bits. Front of rear wheel arches, next to and under middle seats.

As I wend under to seal the underside, I was thrown back at the Condition. .. it was in very good order other than the two bits.

So all fixed. Inside painted. Left overnight. Today in the heavy rain I go to have a look. .. TWO MASSIVE PUDDLES IN THE DIPS WHERE THE HOLES WERE.

After a few minutes thinking and not understanding. I found the original source.

The frigging nissan original roof bars. They are a bit of a wobble where they bolt in.

In short I never thought to look originally. But if you have them give thrm a check.

Never had a terrano rot from inside out.

I'm away today but I have photos at home and ive posted them on here somewhere. Easy enough to remove and seal around the fittings. Basically from what I remember there are small plastic covers on the inside edge of the rails front and back, you need a ball ended alan key to unscrew. It's a hook and loop of cable that secures them front and back. The centre is held with a single alan key grub screw.
Get yourself a tube of tiger seal or similar black automotive sealant. When I get home this evening I'll look for my photos and post up here for you.
