hi chaps,

I cant seem to fix the rear door leak. Ive sealed the kick plate, ive sealed the strip that goes around the inside of the door frame, ive sealed the top gutter and ive stuffed 3/4 of the lower rubber that surrounds the door - but still water gets in! As far as I can see, its coming up through the bottom (that's where the rubber remains wet) or via the usual way down the door frame!!

I just cant suss it out...

any ideas???

go through a car wash and get someone to sit in the back and watch it

Seal the back door shut:lol
I have the same problem.i have sealed up everywhere around the rubber and trim and it's still getting in.
I have pulled the carpet back and fastened it up out of the way to dry.
I can now see that the leak is is the left side of the plastic trim where it goes over the rubber seal at the end.
Have put an old towel in that area to contain the leak and I am going to have another go at sealing it up when the carpet has dried out.

Have you checked;

Seals around light cluster
Wheel carrier bolt holes
Door handle seal

cheers chaps. as far as I can tell, ive checked everywhere. I can see that water is now redirected due to the silicone sealant, but for some reason the water seems to be getting in around 5 inches or so from the door hinges after the second screw that holds the long plate down over the carpet....!!

its obviously getting up and over the plate now, which is why I suspect the rubber seal but I cant fathom why, even after ive stuffed it with more rubber, its still leaking through and also, why on earth its leaking where it is?!

Just found mine has sprung a leak after a really heavy down poor today:doh:doh:doh my drives on a slight slope so it's always parked front end up so all the water runs off the roof down the back:augie Hopefully i'll get a chance tomorrow to try & find where it's coming in as it was to dark tonight

Just had a quick look at min & found a water droplet above the door seal on the left lower corner of the back door so think it could poss be coming in through the door:doh How do you remove the rear door inner panel:augie

I have not taken one off, but would have thought it would be panel clips and possibly a few hidden screws

I've just done mine, had a puddle in the passenger foot-well.

Did the panels under the wipers (both of them), just in case, also removed the rubber grommet in the foot-well to drain any water out.

Then did the back door, sealed all the way round the inner trim and under the plastic footplate (feckin silicone everywhere :doh), also pumped some silicone into the rubber seal on the door, especially on the left hand corner.

It still leaks very slightly (over the plastic footplate), my next job is to adjust the locking catch on the door frame to make the door shut a bit tighter.:thumb2

If all fails I'll Tiger seal the door up!!!!!!:augie

I think it's the weight of the spare wheel on the door which over time pulls the door and strains the hinges so the door don't fit as tight.
