Hi, just recently bought a Terrano II and would like to thank every one for the fantastic information supplied in the club forums, it has helped me to fix some of the common faults on these trucks.
One of the common faults I had, was the problem of the LCD segments coming and going (depending on how hard you hit the dash). It looked like it could be caused by a dry joint or bad connection somewhere around the dash. To isolate the fault I removed the instrument binacle and with the back removed but with the left hand lead still connected I pressed the printed circuit board in its middle, all the LCD segments appeared, release the pressure and they disappear. I removed the instruments from the car and resoldered (carefully)the line of soldered connections to the LCD(right in the middle of the circuit board). I then replaced the instruments and all is working well, and has been now for 2 weeks.
Hope this may be of use to you.
Best regards Dave
