Going for a winch tray which is being fabricated at work for a favour.
If all goes well should be fitted over the next couple of weeks.

Woohoo wicked. Nice one dude :thumb2

What make is it? And if there is one suggestion id say get a synthetic rope. Once I saw ricks one I realised the cable is a pain in the butt :nenau

Couldn't afford the synthetic rope one so this will have to do for now.
It's a Chinese one so will have to whip the cover off and make sure it is well greased.
13000 lb for 211 quid.

Nicely done, same as mine then, a Rick gave me some good pointers about what to look out for, something to do with the contacts coming off easily due to heat if used heavily :thumb2

Managed to get my winch tray mounting brackets made today

Just waiting for guys at work to do the tray.

Yeah. Going to drill out the captive m10 and use m12 nuts and bolts. Also adding an extra one each side for peace of mind.
The winch trays I have looked at just use the 4 bumper mounts.

So the bumper bolts on the outside of the chassis and winch tray on the inside? Like the idea of keeping original bumpers :thumb2

yeah but you have to cut out the centre steel section of the bumper and plastic to suit.
the steel section of the bumper mounts back to the winch tray mounting brackets.
my replacement winch has arrived today:thumb2
all parts are present in this one.

Nice one bud :thumb2 been looking at the T max range off winch's that bearmach do.. little pricey but seem to get good reviews.

the replacement one I got sent is a 12000lb Chinese one.
did a bit of research on them before I parted with any cash.
only advise I have been given is to whip the cover off and make sure there is plenty of grease where there should be.
this one cost 180 quid and for the amount of use it will probably get suits my pocket just fine.

Yeah sounds good. The other bit of advise rick gave me was don't let it get too hot as the contacts wont be up to the job, just give it breaks if you are doing a lot of winching :thumb2

yeah ive read that too, cheers for the reminder.:thumb2
good news is they have not collected the other one yet and have had no response from seller regarding getting it picked up so I might have a spare winch anyway.
