large oil leak

evening all
need some help.the mistral has developed a large oil today while the wife was driving it .not had time to look at it yet any ideas what it could be ???

Bit of info required.................

where does it seem to be originating from? what does it smell (or not smell) of ? what colour ? any warning lights on or anything not showing as normal ?

hopefully i will be putting some on in the next hour , i was at work when my wife phoned me saying there was oil leaking , she didnt say there were any warning lights .

I had that once, wife said as she got home, 'there was a lot of oil under the car so I hurried home so you could fix it, makes a sort of rattling noise now, is that a problem?':doh:doh:doh:doh

not found much so far , cleaned everything up , under the engine , can see where oil has run down the oil filter (on the back side of it )
whats above there ? think the turbo will have to come off to see better .
but rain has stopped play for a while .

found it and sorted it apart from loads of scratches where i had to stick my hand through the small hole behind the passenger wheel .
it was a inch and half rubber pipe that runs from the bottom of the turbo to the block it had tottally gone in one end .cost 5.99 for a meter .(annoying they would nt sell any less )
all fixed and ready to go apart from trying to find where the water is now dripping from

In order of lowest cost to fix....

Sweat from your brow.

If it's coolant:
Loose hose clips, these tend to require tightening after a few years.

Water pump seal, or gasket

Radiator.

Other gaskets or core plugs, unliklely.

If it's windscreen washer fluid, then the pump(s) starts to leak, when they get old.

Hmmm that rings a bell, as we get old..... we often get leaks....:lol :lol

as if by magic the water has stopped leaking after 5 mins of the engine running up to temp .
i manage to find where the water was coming from , around the pump .
so fingers crossed its stopped now .
touch wood thats it all fixed for now.
