hi... i know toyota is a dirty word here:) but as your all very brainy chaps here>>> thought i ask. my old man(dad) has a year 94 landcruiser vx.. 150000 miles on the clock never had to put a spanner too it:bow but now when you start:bow the old girl she starts to smoke after about 20 seconds smells like unburnt fuel? if you turn her off and start her again she seems fine! so is their a timming relay for the glow plugs and should they stay on a while after the engine has been started? you her a click someware in the engine bay and the smoke starts? any ideas:) o and is it easy enough to change the front wheel bearings? think i will be doing it as i have no work on and the old fruit cant move around like he use too:)

Normally the glowplugs should stay on - on the Terrano its about 10 minutes.

Thats why people often don't understand when their battery is dying - it draws a huge amount of current during that period and means your battery needs to be in good nick all the time or it won't take much to whack it....

thanks for that.. i know the batterys arnt the best on it as it has 2 batterys would this have a bearing on it? also you know if the wheel bearings are a sod to do???

some diesels glow circuit linked to engine temp. stays on until engine warm then cuts out.

broadband still on, maybe they've forgot:naughty
