i would call that the towing pigtail, or hook, my mark 2 had one,
thought the new mark 4 has something more akin to the rear towing
eyes, and both sides.

oddly car came with screw in tow eye but dont believe belongs to the
t2.

just like the nissan 'diamond jack' loose in jack cubby hole, dont think
thats man enough, but prefer a good trolley jac kanyway...
