Dont think Jag owners fare any better, although less problems..
I meant all dealers treat customers shicrap..
Actually without blowing my own trumpet I try my absolute best to help where possible.
Example is a customer we have in at the moment, he bought an xj 2.7 in Scotland for too much money... Rust....
He brought it to us after being messed around by stratstones group, immediately once picked up when coming to a stop he noted a bump up the rear when stopping. We carried out a gearbox re flash as the symptoms are correct.
Well the plot thickens, the customer had only had the car 6 weeks, and the car somehow just passed an extended warranty health check (approval for extended warranty)
Needless to say it should not have....
All four tyres are mismatch... Bad practise
Rear diff is loose!!!
Rear sub frame bushes are shagged meaning the diff cannot be secured
Rear arm bushes and suspension bushes badly worn...
Possibly still needs a new gearbox although we cannot be sure until diff and sub are sorted...
Here's where it gets tricky, most dealers would just say sorry mate, don't wanna work on it...
I know we wont get paid for any of this work and a lot is classed as wear and tear, so I have comprised a report for the customer to take back to the supplying dealer/chain and they will have to carry out the work they should have from the offset... He will then return to us for a further health check
At this point we can then look into the gearbox..
I didn't have to do any of this at all... And have been paid for none of it... Bad business practise.. However great customer rapport :thumbs
