key fob recoding

so i printed out the down load to recode my alarm fob it stopped working last week i fitted new batteries today. Followed the easy step by step guide now heres the problem, no step 7 no confirmation flash of the cars warning lights to confirm recoding, so my alarm fob still doesnt work and now the crunch bit because iv tried recoding the fob the wife one doesnt work either.

And yes iv tried completing the guide recoding both fobs but still no step 7, the car will work on the central locking and ignition and starts fine.

Any ideas?

update

All done, i to like some one else on here wasnt pressing the unlock button quick enough x2 key fobs reprogrammed and working
