Just changed my fuel filter and this came out...

So, I've just changed my fuel filter (was easier than I thought it'd be) and the fuel that came out of the old filter looked like this;

Looks yummy!

Any ideas what it might be? My Terrano was running fine before I changed the filter - just thought it was time for a change.
My dads fuel filter on his Shogun was so badly clogged his engine cut out a few months ago and I suspected it might of been the diesel bug, so both of our cars got treated with Marine 16 - could those chunks of stuff be the remnants of the diesel bug?

Back to topic, using bio fuel, or veg oil can clean the fuel lines and deposit some slime too.

Yeah, I've been running 50/50 veg oil for a couple of weeks now - that's part of the reason I wanted to change.

It's already had a large dose of Marine16 and there is some more on the way, it's been running fine - I just wanted to show the 'orrid gunge that plopped out of the bottom of my filter

come across the problem at sea in fuels, you did right to start treatment stright away, but the primery source must be treated, are u using the same fuel garage, or variouse ones, modern fuels are very prone to this problem due to the prosses of catalytic cracking, keep checking you fuel filters, other wise if the problem with the bugs increaces thay will start to clog up fuel pipes pump and injectors, the last ship i was on with this problem, was compleat, injector, fuel pumps, changed, all fuel lines, 2x fuel tanks steam cleaned.
