My terrano is quite a capable off roader even my mate in td5 disco get shown up a fair bit by mine lol but if mine lifts a front wheel game over! What if I was to do auto hub conversion and get front diff welded? As in 2wd the auto hubs would allow wheels to run free of each other but when in 4wd they'd engage and welded diff would allow 1 wheel to lift but keep pulling on other wheel. Or am I missing a vital piece of evidence against it as usual

sounds interesting to me, give it a try and let us all know.lol :thumb2

Yeeees but it'll be a bitch to steer off road  You'll end up doing a lot of arm exercise while four wheel sliding into trees and the like :lol
Best route is to fit a LOKKA up front. :sly
Ask Rick about his Lokka experiences ;)

Is your limited slip diff working ok, as it should allow drive to your rear wheels?
When was the oil last changed, and was Limited Slip Diff ( LSD) oil put in?

what he says, had mine with a front wheel off the ground and not lost traction in the rears.

TD5's are cr@p off road I should know had a disco 2:doh T2's will beat them hands down:thumbs was out with a mate in his TD5 disco & we stopped at the side of the road & the n/s of both motors sank into the mud almost to the hubs he had to use 4L, centre diff lock & TC to get out I just left it in 2WD & drove straight out as o/s/r wheel was on tarmac so Mr LSD kicked in:thumbs had 1 front or rear wheel lifted off the ground a few times & never had any problems:D

Yes the Lokka fitted to the front diff is soooooooo much better than a welded diff, interesting about the LSD, when the oil is in need of changing the diff almost locks up as the special additives deplete, this is not so good on road going motors, "kick out on roundabouts etc" but for off road it is good, so suggests to me Sweety needs to change his oil, Rick
