Well the rear suspension has been grunting over speed humps for about 6 months and a couple of weeks ago I started to get the same grunting noise from the front suspension as it rises and falls over speed humps.

Got it diagnosed last weekend and its the lower front and rear suspension arms. Basically after 12 years the rubber has deteriorated in the bushes and the bushes have started to separate from the rubber type inserts.

Its a similar set up at the rear, have fitted some Blueprint ones all round as the Jeep ones were over £600 for a set plus another £125 for the nuts & bolts. All fitted now and the Jeep feels much tauter on the suspension as if it had had new dampers! Had to use new Jeep bolts though but did get a bit of discount. Got a mate at work to do the fitting and it was all done in under 2 hours!

It's the first real spend on the Jeep so can't complain after putting almost 30 k miles on her in the last 2 years. Now have a leak on the air con so am ordering some new seals to sort that out.

Ive just done the rears on mine too, loads better now :thumb2
I bought them of eBay, £55 delivered for the pair! Did you check the A frame ball joint on top off the axle? Mine was shot so I did that too, worth checking :thumb2

A frame ball joint ?

Not checked that but will do. Oddly enough I was surprised that Jeep picked none of my suspension issues up when they did the airbag recall in late November as they did a free health check plus missed on its MoT in January!

Are there any driving symptoms with the A frame ball joint on a WJ series ?

Air Con - good to have extra !!

That's pretty good going, just scrap the aircon though, 'tis gay, didn't you know?? :D

I clearly am in touch with my feminine side as I think air con is a must just a pain that its not always reliable on older cars.

That said I had no trouble with the air con on my r3mR - I think the previous owner spent some money on it though.

My new company van has air con, I couldn't believe my eyes :D

Phase two of Jeep suspension fix.

Finally got the front upper suspension arms replaced today complete with bushes. My mate who did it did say one side was a bit of a pig to get the last bolt in !

Rear Boomerang and center ball joint also replaced as one side was shot and ball joint was somewhat sloppy. Again the hard bit was getting the bolts undone on the ball joint where it fits onto the rear axle. As well as being very tight he reckoned it had Locktite on the threads!

That should be sound now for next years MoT test.
First real spend on the Jeep who has now done almost 30k miles in a tad over 2 years.
