Hope someone here has changed the fuel filter on one of these mine is a WJ series Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004 fitted with the MB sourced 2.7 CRD 5 cylinder diesel engine.

My question is about the filter itself as the Jeep has a filter slightly different to UK MB 5 cylinder engines. I have the new filter that is a cross referenced Merc Part for commercial vehicles. It has standard MB connections on the top with a water bleed connector on the side with a built in rubber gasket.

The bottom of the filter has a hole with a spring loaded base connection for the water sensor switch. Has anyone fitted a filter like this and is the seal built into the water sensor switch ?

I would say the sensor has the seal on it, but if so I would of expected a new "O" for it in the box, in the pic I cannot see a seal,Rick

There is no loose seal in the box and I am reluctant to change the filter if I need a seal. Might ring up Jeep dealer and see if it is a seperate part or if it only comes with the switch.

The Jeep part is £50 ish MB part was a more reasonable £18.00 ish with discount.
