None truck related.
The last three years I've been working on my house and garden.
All done:D.
Me trucks in good order and I've got no bills in:D:D:D
I've always loved a good music system.
And always had a top quality separates set up.
Until I brought a TV surround set up and got rid.
Mistake.
But technology has moved on and I love my little bluetooth jawbone jambox speaker.
However it's very inadequate.
I mix music via mp3s.
and I use mix cloud and Spotify for everything else.
so I'm thinking of getting this bad boy

http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk...th_Bluetooth&gclid=CNP4qpTPq8YCFTLKtAodc6sCVw
good for everything with big sound.
Just need use this and my phone.
And occasionally set up with my mixing decks

And you've just had a new gearbox delivered from your bearded friend!!!! :augie :naughty

Things seem on the up and up for you Steve!!! Jealous :naughty

Haha.
Thanks my bearded friend. Still owe you.
Was only thinking of this as I have no debts for 7 quid a week for the rest of my life.
My question is does it look good kit?

I'm big into my sounds and can't help thinking you're spending in the wrong end. MP3 so compressed. Why not think about a better source to mix n play with. Like maybe go Deezer Elite and a good DAC . That way you can have CD quality, lossless sounds at a very reasonable monthly fee and no need to buy CDs again.
just a thought :D

Mine's all old skool Technics separates from my college days with floor standing Mission speakers:thumb2
Can't turn it up too loud as I can't afford new windows:D
Looks good though, keep your truck balanced and get two:augie

I have literally hundreds of hours of music on my hard drive.
With more coming soon. All for free.
This also incorporates a Cb player.usb and aux inputs.
And more importantly bluetooth and semi portable.
And I have little faith in electronics in my last 5 years experience.
This is 7 quid a week. Less than what I spend on red bull.
And if I have it on these terms it is covered for three years for any incident even theft.
It has millions of features sound effects and good for djing
With flashing lights thrown in.
It will look great in the castle I'm building in my garden.
seems a bit excessive 1440 rms watts.
But.
You can have a powerful car without going fast.
And a powerful system without being loud.
It's all about what it delivers.

If I got a lie sure battery and inverter I could even stick it in the boot.

:D.
Good for shell island camping. Could even take my decks.
Totaly versatile and more to the point bluetooth.
kit am a in it.
If I don't like the sound it's cost me 7 quid.
As can take it back:D

Sounds a great system:thumb2

As with any sound system, be sensible with the sound level, I think there are too many people with systems in their cars, played too load, that is causing permanent damage to their ears.

This of cause can lead to deafness.

What?

I said it could lead to deafness..

WHAT ?

I SAID.... IT COULD LEAD TO DEAFNESS...

WHAT?

I said ... do fancy a pint...:beer::beer:

My Cyrus set up

I have all Cyruss gear with Bose Acoustamas 5 speakers. Used to have big floor standing Missions but the wife put her foot down! Have cable from TV for when we watch a good dvd.

About 25 years ago I started buying the seperate items for my set up as I could not afford to do it all at once.
I have 50 w true output per channel with a bi-amp one for each channel with power supply for each component. Thats 100 W in total
I have an i/pod connector but TBH the sound from mp3 format shows its flaws on a high end amp so I rarley use it. Spent a bit on high quality connectors. Have a direct drive turntable but it now in the loft!

Looks a nice system.
Last speakers I brought were tannoy 611s. That cost 600. I gave them my daughter after I had this surround system as I had nowhere to put them.
They were killed within a few weeks.i regretted that.

And ain't had a decent sound system since.
At 1440w rms I could do my own illegal raves:lol

My current sound system.
Great little portable thing.but put the kettle on and you can't hear it

i love my cellistion 66 studio monitors that go down to 14hz got in 1976 powered by a coupland hybrid power amp,a valve mosfet design these two cost me more than my new car in 1976 a cortina 2000e estate.
for video i sling in 2 300wrms cerwin vaga 12" subs at front 2 200w pioneer subs at rear with jbl rears and jbl front center.sweet and crystal.old school beets mp3 as said.this fills my 28x18 living room at cinema sound level.
wont get away with the sound level on camp sites though with the sony.shame unless its a private field.

Here's a quick resume on my set up.
Rega Planar 3 deck and NAD 1020A sorts the old skool side of things.

That's on a sound/vibration cancelling chunk of granite , then stupid money interconnect to my main amp.
Main amp is a Yamaha RX-V377 AV surround amp. Kicks out 100watts RMS over 5 channels. Plus the sub :sly
Also it's the hub for bluetooth audio receiver converter thingy. That'll handle audio from my tablet that streams CD quality lossless :clap
On the odd occasion we actually watch a DVD then the old Pioneer DV 454 does the business there (and CDs of course)

Also here is my Monitor Audio centre speaker
Front speakers are also Monitor Audio built into the wall jobbies . No fighting for floor space with dirty great monoliths :lol

Took a bit of digging out but well worth the extra space gained .

After some cunning drilling to get the speaker wires IN the wall I got this

Rear speakers are Wharfdale something or others omnidirectional , set onto camera tripod , just for fun :D

The sub lives behind a couch and I built a book shelf around it , as you do

All the cables are ducted under the floor and the best I could afford. Surprisingly they are noticeable.
MP3 just sounds rough on a good system and that's why I'm so glad we've at last got fibre last week. Now I can stream music even when the "OTHERS" come home and use my broadband too :wasntme
Luckily I live in an old slate built cottage circa 1900 . The walls do a very good job of keeping the sounds in but the sash windows rattle something aweful. tempory fixed with cardboard wedges :lol

I'd look into the bitrate bluetooth uses, as your tablet may only be able to stream a certain bitrate usually the same as most decent quality mp3s.

Like the flush speakers !

Looks as though 4x4 owners like some good sound systems too - nice Deck btw Makefit.
I like the wall mounted speakers gives new meaning to the term.
I think money spent on good connectors pays dividends having done some blind tests years ago.
I bought some used directional connectors for my system from a work mate who was returning to N.Zealand so was selling off his old Hi-Fi. My brother bought some kit off him (Pink Triangle Deck) but did not want to pay £40 for a pair of used connections from CD player to Amp.
I bought a couple of sets and had some high quality speaker single strand speaker cable thrown in for the deal.
Though I am not convinced I could tell the difference if the interconnect cables were back to front directional wise the difference between the old and new cables did surprise me.
I used the speaker cable just for the Subwoofer as the Bose Small speakers only take the standard cable in the hollow stands / supports.

Fez, that's a very good point .I can't find a bit rate on the blurb either, so I suspect you're right. I've been having big help from Clivvy on this very topic of late and you might just have hit the ruddy nail right on the head :thumbs
I've been using the lappy via RCA recently due to what I thought was a tablet issue. hmm light bulbs :D:clap
