I have been looking on autotrader and it appears the terrano does not have the isofix child seat anchor points. Am I correct or does any member have a model which has these ?

Cheers in advance

I have personal never seen a T2 with isofix, but on the other hand we do have two cars with isofix and still use seats in these that utilise the adult belts. Not sure it's really all that important to have isofix :nenau

but some may have it, I don't know

Thanks fot the reply

I guess it's just a personal preference but I have got isofix in my car at the moment and its rock solid. I have seen quite a few seatbelt secured seats in other peoples cars that dont look as secure. Plus once youv'e got your isofix seat fitted it stays put - no messing about required.

I've just googled to see whether nissan offers an isofix retrofitting kit for the terrano but no success there either.

Cheers
John

The problem comes when you already have Isofix in one car and you want to transfer the seat to other cars.

If the grandparents take the kids out then you may need 2 sets of seats and a lot of adjustment.

I would expect that the Isofix are better, in that there is less setting up during attachment. Less to go wrong.

The older seats attachments should be ok but they may not be fixed properly, especially if they are swapped from car to car. :nenau

I just looked on ebay, and there is a kit for the Ford Focus as an after market fitting.
But it would be unsafe and possibly illegal to fit this to other cars as there has been no crash test results, so don't even think about that method.

It would be a usefull attachment in a boat though, or even a stationary caravan.

no not the terranos, nor does my y61 patrol.

thinkl the current pathfinder does though so the navara might too.

maybe the xtrail, its the right age i reckon.

Thanks for the reply lads. Bit surprised the terrano never had them fitted as in my opinion it is a family type vehicle but there yer go !

not sure about the T2 but can confirm the pathfinder from 06 has them fitted as i have one for my 10mth old and wouldnt put her in anything else!

Hardly surprising since Isofix wasn't fully standardised until 2006, more than a year after the last T2 was made. :)
