Mine did exactly the same when I replaced it, I have an 82 degree one and it now runs at 1/4, i'd be interested to see what it runs at in the summer

Mine only climbed on the gauge when booting it on a run way and pushing say 95mph but drops as soon as you ease of but motorway work it just runs very low so may take stat out my spare terrano as that was only a few days old when I parked it up

The best way is to test it, the old saucepan and hot water set up, with the thermostat suspended from above so it doesn't touch the bottom, and monitor temperature and note it when it starts to open, and again when fully open and let it cool, and note the temperature when it's nearly closed.

If you use a glass thermometer, don't rest it on the bottom of the pan.:doh

You can compare both old and new at the same time.:thumb2

You mean 95 KPH surely:).

I've had 100 out of my Maverick on a disused runway and when I was running diesel, it was a struggle though
I know that runway, it runs from Manchester to Birmingham... :lol
Yes the 2.7td's can just get to 100 mph on the GPS BUT you need in flight fuel filling from a tanker.

If you do use these vehicles at track days, :augie you need to start slow, and red line them in low gears a few times, like you do pre MOT, ( Oh that reminds me, mine passed it's MOT today). Do this a few times, it really loosens them up, otherwise you struggle to get them past 90.
But once loosened up, they seem to fly, and I am talking about the non intercooler 2.7 td here:thumb2a
