should the gaps above the wheels and the arches be even front to back

my front is nearly 2 inches lower than the back

i have bigger wheels but not lifted yet

any ideas ?

my terrano is more or less the same all round, but i have noted on here before that the mavs I have noted seem to sit lower at the front which is odd as I thought it was only a badge change, unless ford set up the suspension differently. You can of course wind up the front to match the back but not the other way round....regards...bri

They all sag at the front with age with age. My 96 Mav had and my 2000 T2 had.

The Nissan Workshop manual give te correct way to set the height back to standard and tbh that is the best way. Measureing to bits of bodywork relies on the bodywork being spot on and bodies are only built to something like +-10m in any direction.

As a rough guide the cills should look level.

sitting level

it should sit pretty level.torsion bar adjustment time.you wont have to re-index the adjusters only wind them up a bit.on standard springs i had about 1/2 inch lower on the front so when fully loaded it sat level.

Mine sags at the back end, I had some Milners springs fitted last year but it hasn't made any difference.

you should have had some of hb's +20 springs

so are my bars bent then.

can i buy now ones

if im 2 inches low on the front now without a lift im going to need 4 inches on the front when i lift it.... is that possible ?

I set my torsion bars up as stated in the manual & the sills are almost level (1/4" lower at the front) & I have about 2" difference but if you look at the side of your T2 you'll notice the rear arches are higher than the front going off the shape of the body

sagging torsion bars

they will sag over time, but not that much.have a look at how much thread is sticking out from the top of the adjusters to see if they are wound right up.you can take them out and turn them over but just re-indexing the adjusters will give you plenty of lift on the front when you fit the rear lift springs.as ive said in other posts i moved my adjusters 4 splines and i have got the lift needed on the front and there is still plenty of thread left on the adjuster bolts.
