Did your neighbour not mind you standing on their grass getting a pic of your Bungalow & Florence in shot

Im glad your getting settled into your new bungalow and have mobility.

it looks like a trolley Jack....:lol:lol

We have a friend who has an older one, and they love it to bits, a very practical car. Congratulations, and glad you are back mobile.

So does that make you Zebedee or Dougal ?

Or Dylan the rabbit, or even Brian the snail.:augie

Nice motor, quite a high seating position, with a seat you can slide on and off, that you don't need to lift yourself out of.

My son had an Audi A3, sport suspension, boy was that low, sometimes I considered getting out on my knees first.

Looks good Pete, well done mate I think you'll be fine.

Are you in the new QTH now?

no jim , saving up for the decorators to wallpaper the lounge , then we gotta save up for carpets curtains etc .... then get a fridge that works and a washing machine that doesn't leak ...... then we can move in .

well , after a few days of ownership , I can say its definitely not a snail  , but I detest with a passion the stop / start technology :( , I often turn it off . ..... my average fuel consumption over the last 2 days ( ive done exactly 100 miles ) is 41.5 mpg .... almost all of that was around town, except for a " session " on the bingley bypass where I had to test the loud pedal :sly..... its summat you have to do in a new car innit ? :sly...... was quite surprised how quick it was ...... but omg did the fuel economy suffer  .

The secret to economy is treat the loud pedal as if it has a raw egg strapped to the front, and gently stroke it, it is acceleration that kills the fuel consumption.

Up hills, don't try to maintain the same speed, this is why cruise control often kills the fuel economy too.

Anticipate more, why brake if you can take your foot of the throttle 50 yards sooner, anticipate traffic lights, don't brake hard in normal driving.
Choose your route and time of day to travel, where possible.

You can still do 70 + on the motorway and our Diesel Picasso will still achieve 50- 55 around town, motorway etc. But it is a manual.

Also avoid long spells, in the future, with the engine running, ie warming up on a frosty morning.
I would have thought the " start /stop technology would improve it, but I can imagine it is a pain in the **** maybe give it more a chance.
The engine and Auto box might be a bit tight at the moment, brakes bedding in etc, so should improve with a couple of thousand miles on the clock.

This technique doesn't seem to help the Mav on short journeys though, but travelling at 90 mph, on a private road, would really kill it, you would need a tanker along side you, to do in transit re-fuelling.:doh

How long do you think the starter motor, and battery will last on a car using start/stop tech? It must put a fair bit a wear on them.

My worry would be stopping at a set of traffic lights on a winter morning, and then finding that because you have the head lights, wipers, demister, heated windows/mirrors/seats, right hand indicator on, and the ICE cranked up to listen to the traffic, you now don't have enough juice to re-start the engine...

I have heard that the battery and starter motor are tougher than the standard car, but at least you have the option of switching it off, which is what I would do in winter.

Maybe also high current devices like blower, rear screen heater, shut off at the same time as the engine.

To me... this is something else to go wrong and expensive to put right if it is your own car, but if on Mobility... :augie. They must work, otherwise Mobility wouldn't allow the car.:nenau

Florence will be going back to the dealers on Friday morning for a strange fault investigating  .

when reversing up a hill or slight incline .....where you have to increase the revs ..... it stinks of a burning clutch  ..... from what I understand it doesn't have a clutch or a torque converter ....... it has a egs6 gearbox which has electronic gear control ....... im confused dot com .

Not good, is it all covered under warranty?

Must have some sort of clutch/torque converter surly?
