Hi, this is my first post on this forum so Hello!
I have a 1999 Nissan Patrol 2.8TD GR in very good condition with only 91000 miles from new, a very full detailed service history and I am the second owner. All good so far. The only problem is the heater fan which from time to time in all weather, ceases to work. It then restarts, one day later or two weeks later with no obvious cause. Sometimes it will run for a few months and then stop.
I have removed the cover from the fan housing and the fan is very clean. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Hi and welcome, I have no specific knowledge on the Patrol, but I would guess the brushes are sticky from your description, if it is anything like the Terrano motor then it cannot be dismantled, but I am sure Patrol owner will be along soon but Friday night is not a good night for replies, Rick

Thanks for that. I did remove the glove box and disconnect the resistor to clean the contacts, and all the other switches there. Gave the fan housing a gentle tap and it works. So I think you a re right with sticky brushes. Regards
