when i got my Terrano back i found that the interior lights and radio are not working, i checked the fuses and they are intact any ideas? ive not no 3000W stereo anymore :eek:

something i know is the perminant on the radio shares the same circuit as the room lights, as they share the same fuse

It's clearly caught Land Rover Syndrome, probably needs a proper transplant using Nissan Parts.
Clearly the vehicle has rejection issues and has rejected all the LR parts that you are trying to use, or parts that look like LR parts.

Let me think...
You mess around putting mods on the vehicle.
Then something else doesn't work.
You try to fix that, then something else doesn't work... Hmmm

Now what do they say...

If it ain't broke don't fix it..:doh

still can't find the fault:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead

Must be around the fuse... to be honest if you really are running a 3KW stereo off the original wiring, I would have thought you may have actually burnt out a join somewhere... I seriously doubt it would be up to the currents needed for a Head Unit that size..

Start by taking the fuse out, and using a Pin to check the actual fuse holder, have you got 12v on one side, and nothing on the other. That way, you will know if the problem is with the supply to the fuse box, or from it to the accessory's.

Depending on that, depends on the next step.

ok cheers, i checked all fuses, relays and the main breakers unter the bonnet, also i tested the room light feed, that's OK also, the sterio feed is fine, i wonder if it's something to do with the ignition switch back plate, it still works on ACC and IGN but wont start, hence there's a temporally push to start button in place

OK, now I am confused... the Int lights are on a permanent 12v, as they come on even when there are no keys in the ignition.

The Radio has 2 feeds, one is a permanent low current 12 volt for the memory, and then the higher switched 12volt to actually run it...

So in theory your radio should work when the key is turned, but just loose all it's setting, when you turn the key back off, if it is the permanent feed not working. Otherwise you are missing 2 feeds..

yes im missing 2 feeds

Not sue, but might be worth checking to see if you have lost one of the earth returns somewhere.

I have not done enough playing with the wiring yet to help you much more... Back to basic principles I guess.

Yeah, I'm going to go check it again its -2.6℃ here but so what:lol

So what are you running from the vehicles standard wiring?

I hope your not running lights and 3kw sound off it...

which is wired to the main battery with a decent feed?

I think the 3000w needs clarifying as well mate
as I understand it you've an active sub woofer box thing at 2000w (peak I guess not RMS) so that has it's own power supply . The head unit can only be 40-50watts per channel max (peak again not RMS)
So the h/u load will be no more than the std wiring will take :thumbs
How can you tell if you've lost both supplies if you have no primary power feed?
Therefore complete earth failure (unusual though as you'll still get earth via the aerial), so I reckon it must be a mechanical live issue .
Time for the meter me thinks :thumbs

possible that the aerial wire earth is not thick enough to take the current?
