I've just brought myself a Intek M-150 CB Radio that I'm going to fit in the Maverick on Saturday when I fetch it. I only paid £30 for it and it even came with an aerial :)

The guy had it wired straight into his fusebox in a Skoda :S I've fitted a 12v cigarette charger end on it and its working great :), the only problem is I will need a different mount as the one attached to the aerial is for a hatchback

Can anyone point me in the right direction for one for a Mav? and where is the best location to mount it
? I have about 2-3m of cable to play with

mines on a magmount you can buy the bits from maplins tho for mounting differently

mines stays put no probs at the legal speed limit of 70 on the uk roads

has the mav got roof rails, many mount to them though i prefer
a magmount too. secure but easily removed. also can mount in
centre of roof for best ground plane effect.

10 10 good buddy

Seems the Magmounts are quite popular, I suppose in terms of ripping it off the roof in a hurry and stuff it's a good idea but I would just be worried it would fly off on the motorway lol

I tested it this morning on the way into work, I was chatting to two guys about 5 or 6 miles away from me who were talking about dragonflies on the canal :S lol

that sounds pretty good, in terms of distance.

get plank or briggie to walk you thru swr to
preserve the rig.

looks like a smallish stinger aerial, pretty light and
will flex if catches trees etc. I used to use a dv27
which was atleast a metre tall and solid without
issue on a mag at 70, wind noise was more of an
issue to be fair.

radio looks smart with presuming front facing speaker
handy if mounting in dash or a cubby hole.

Whats swr? and yeah front facing speaker which is pretty loud too!!!

standing wave ratio

poorly set up twig will work against radio, even damage it.

looks like stinger so likely was preset at factory but can
be checked as different mount positions can upset ratio.

have a read of this
