Hi, not got my terrano yet but that should change in the near future. SO i have been looking around for some insurance. My current policy comes through adrian flux to a third party which suposedly will not insure a terrano, so my current policy will have to be cancelled and i would have to start a fresh one. Best quote through flux is just under £1100!!!! Thats nearly double my current vehicle. After that i have found some quotes of £800 if i stump it up in one go.
So can ask where u all get insured and any tips on getting these numbers down where they should be? Surely it doesnt cost us all this much for the pleasure of terrano ownership. Any help is welcome as i dont fancy getting bent over any more then nessessary lol

Thanks

Well not too sure of your background and details and don't post them on here. I seem to have high prices compared to others on here which is frustrating for someone on the wrong side of 50. I've floated from insurance company to the next. Adrian Flux has always been expensive for me. NFU were good price for first year or so, then Direct Line and back again, currently we are Admiral Multi Car which so far seems reasonable.
If you use a compare website and find a company you like, phone them to confirm the price and information as often when you phone they find something but without doing this could leave you without valid insurance. Try a mileage limit as this can bring price down. Also declare any mods to the vehicle even something as daft as body mouldings fitted extra or towbar.

Good luck

There is an Adrian flux rep on here that checks in every now and again, he may be able to help you, I got my last through the meerkats and it is nowt like £800  That's just bloody ridiculous mate, unless you have been a very naughty boy 😈 :lol

I was paying £600 fully comp until this year. A quick look around has got me closer to £300, and that's with the 3 points I earned this year.
Current insurers putting up with the points and going to charge a £50 admin fee for changing address. Cheaper to change insurers.
Living in Bucks is going to put a hefty wad on top, isn't it?

i think 2 of mine were both under 230 fully com the 3l one nearer 300 though.i look around and then phone to usually get %off.ins has increased this year though but thats a lot.

It shouldn't make any difference if its a terrano.

Speak to Dan on here, he works for adrian flux.

I live in the countryside which helps but i'm 28 with about 8 yr ncb and pay around £250 for fully comp with them. Sadly we seem to keep getting shafted with higher and higher prices so who knows what I will pay next. Looking to move to a van anyway. :nenau

I didn't know that they gave points for kerb crawling, I thought that sort of thing would be covered by other laws :D :hide:

6 years ncb seems to make no difference to these robbers. Never been caught kerb crawling so they cant hold that one against me lol. Seems im having alot more luck adding my good women as a named driver, thats taking a hefty chuck out of what they are after. Will have to call the best ones tomorrow when they are open and let you know how I get on.

Tent? :naughty

Hey Simon, someone has hacked into my forum account and been posing as me, goodness knows what else he/she has done. Thankyou for bringing this post to my attention and I will endeavour to ensure that this kind of disruption does not continue.
I apologise for this and hope the mishap will not sour the accord we have, I would hate for something like this to disrupt any future relations between us.
My apology and compensation guidlines state that in this circumstance you are entitled to eight cans of alcoholic beverage (chosen from a list which can be provided) or a 750ml bottle of alcoholic beverage (chosen from a list which can be provided) or a three pack of Ferro-Rocher, please state which you would prefer in your reply.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Douglas, MD.

Insurance Costs

Our old Terrano was expensive as it was an import.
Our Jeep we have just renewed it's a 2.7 CRD cost was £377 with crash history 2 years ago with NFU not the cheapest but good cover.

insurance

I got my mistral through Elephant.co.uk for £280, but for the small extra should have stayed with Adrian flux as the Euro breakdown was only £50 its over £100 with these.
However due to the increased vehicle thefts I'm expecting a huge increase. my bike insurance went up about £10 pounds but the theft excess went from £150 to £1550, shopping around me thinks lol

Just an update. I managed to get a policy fully comp with Aviva. For a touch under £400. When I get my refund from my cancelled policy it will have cost me £140 for the year on a Terrano. :clap
So thanks Dan for looking but going direct to Aviva was too good to turn down.

Ok no problem. Totally understand. Please feel free to try us next year if you like.
Regards,
Dan.
