Help needed 8O ,

Just rung my insurance to get quote for changing JEEP (4.0litre auto PETROL) to a 1999 Terrano MK2 (circle lights) 2.7tdi SWB, now according to Parkers and the dealer this is a group 10, but NFU are saying its 14 (one lower than the JEEP) and that there would be no change in the policy price :?:

Can anyone clear this up for me who has 1999 2.7tdi?

it will actually depend on the model variant too - i.e. SE+, or a bog-standard jobby.

Believe it or not, it does make a difference of 4 groups!!! Crazy eh....

I do not now what group mine is but I only pay £239 fully comp with two years no clams.

8O I'm 18 though so its £1100 a year :(

SE+ is group 14, and from what parkers says everything else is 10, this one is SE not SE +, will call them again 2mora, looks like I'm having it either way

U changed cars Toolbox? u never used to have SWB did u?

Have had this one over two years now, before that had a 1993 LWB.

ours is or was group 10, tdi sr 96.

recall at ime that extra power from intercooler was 'free' as as td was group 10 also.

might be right that a loaded one was higher. seem to recall thinking this was unfair, when ours was no dearer with the intercooler.
