I did exactly that tonight, but as near as I can tell, I need a 4mm LED suitable for 12v. Maplin only had low voltage 3mm & 5mm :doh
They don't do a 4mm LED, and in the ones with the built in 12v resistor you can only get them in Yellow red and green. See here...
The way Jim was talking about is to use "Grain of Wheat" incandescent lamps, which are normal bulbs, but just have long wires straight out the bottom, just like were used in them in the first place.
I got some Blue T4.7 LED bulbs from Ebay for the T2, and was very please with them, they use COB leds, so you get led focus..
By the way they also do the long bulbs which I could not find anywhere when I needed them.. Do a search on Ebay for Neo Wedge LED..
I really do not understand why they have to have so many different sizes of what is basically the exact same thing.
On Jiggley, to do the one I had missed, which was more like the two white ones on your car, I ended up removing the LEDs from the one that was too big by carefully unwrapping the wires, and then fitted it into the old white holder after removing that bulb..
