Remove the whole thing until it looks like the below and then get one of those stretchy Bailcast boots and a fitting cone :thumbs

x6 12mm Bolts holding the joint to the front diff, I'm sure you'll be familiar with the gubbins behind the hub? :nenau

I do not like those stretchy ones, once you have the shaft off you might just as well knock the CVJ off of the shaft and fit normal boots, Rick

Like rick I don't like the stretchy ones think ill just do it old fashioned was. Was just hoping the inner one would tap off rather than disturbing outter one

Once the inner CV is unbolted off the diff is there not enough room to remove the CV from the drive shaft without stripping the hub down:nenau

problem with that is how to hold the shaft and give it a hard enough knock to shift it from the CVJ and same applies to getting it back in, Rick

yes if you have one split it makes sense to do both boots at the same time, you can remove the inner boot and shaft with the tri coupling and rollers still on it but drop a roller and all the needle rollers fall out but if you are willing to spend the time putting them all together at the end then as the circlip on this part is accessible once out then it can be removed and the tri head (cannot think of the correct name) can be removed from the shaft, and the boots changed no problem, then the unit can be reassembled, but I prefer to keep the inner joint undisturbed and knock off the CVJ, Rick
