Is this normal on my 2004 TDi?

I've never heard it before :nenau it's exactly the same noise that you get for a few seconds when you switch the engine off which I've been led to believe is the shut off solenoid?

I'm worried, I'm trying to look after my IP :doh

I'm going to go check it again now I've had dinner and watched some TV

I need to distract myself from the latest episode of The Walking Dead that I've just watched  :(

I would of imagined they are not silent but mŷ terrano is so noisy anyway

No video this eve I'm afriad, I will if you want a comparison though, let me know :thumb2

If you could mate that would be brilliant as ours are the same year :thumb2

My truck was playing up after work, it turns out that the stupid scotchblocks I've used to piggyback onto the wires for the fuel pump have started to disintegrate and when touched or wobble when driving I lose all power :(

Been scaring myself silly Googling stuff like "Bosch VE Injection Pump Noises" and everything seems to be pointing at the pump failing :( I hope that's not right

I'll get my fuel pump wires sorted out first before I jump to conclusions

What would you guys suggest I use in place of the scotchblocks to attach my PowerChip onto the pump plug with?

I prefer to use Solder and heatshrink.

Nice!!!!! eBodge? You got a link to what you use

Fleabay is your friend... Same as normal Heatshrink, but has a hot glue lining that turns runny when you heat it up to shrink it.

The great thing is, if you have a size difference, e.g. 3 cables into 1, while the sleeve is still hot, you can squash it flat with your pinkies, and it will stick, and seal to it's self, which means not only do you get the extra support on the solder joint of the tubing, but it's also waterproof.

Adheasive Heat Shrink
