im wondering what ever next ?

new front brakes

new thermo stat
new water pump

did i leave anything off ? lol

just as well the wife likes this car her old mondeo same age only ever cost me new tyres every few years and a cam belt change due to age not reaching milage, i miss that car o my wallet does

ah but meeting rick , swifty and maggs is priceless :thumb2

thats a shame mate. I have always maintained that these trucks are so reliable and tough, that it often works against them, because people neglect them! Once you have replaced all this stuff though, you probably wont have to do it again!

clivvy is right, i have had to do some jobs on mine since getting it but once they're done thats it no more worries next big job on mine is steering idler but theres still life in it yet :D

Iv spent more time fixing mine than i have driving it, but as its only a play thing i dont mind. Give me a reason to get out the GF's way at the weekend :lol

ive spent a fortune on mine.everything to do with clutch, new diesel pump.rear brakes and cylinders, crank sensor, fuel lines fuel tank zorst, complete clutch pedal assy, front abs sensors in the post. numerous fiddly bits i cant remember.but er indoors loves it and its goin nowhere according to her who must be obeyed secretly i love it too but like er indoors it drives me nuts.

looking forward to it

yep looking forward to meeting some fellow club/forum members it mite be the shove i need to get me out looking for some green lanes. seeing as i seem to be almost rebuilding this thing part by part i mite just put a set of these on for the winter to

http://www.camskill.co.uk/m26b0s95p...K_RT03_HANKOOK_RT_03_-_235_75_R15_LT_104Q_TL_

we had bfg 31 1050 15s on our old original swb patrol made it unstoppable and we killed a fair few alternators and starters on that over the years with all the mud plugging and deep water swimming we did in it.

i am planning on replacing the viscous fan with an electric fan on a dash mounted switch and doing something with the front suspension and steering the old patrol had good old grease nipples on it once a month i would give them all a good going over these dont have them so there is plenty of slack in most of them

I was looking at a set of these, as they look a bit chunkier

I am no expert on tyres...... ( OK shut up :augiethen I hear you say...)

BUT, chunky tyres are great in fresh snow, but hopeless on sheet ice.

If you take a look at "Snow tyres" they have small sipes built into the tread

I'm only showing this tyre as it shows what I mean.

So maybe do some research on tyres for the winter.

I have on Avon Rangers AT M&S ( Mud and Snow) and they were great on steep icy roads, I went past many crashed cars that couldn't cope last winter. OK 4x4 in low ratio, second gear going down hill, using the hand throttle to avoid sudden Jerks (We all know a few of them don't we :lol:lol)

Some members on this site don't like the Avon Ranger, but they may not be the AT M&S, I don't like the Cooper's AT's so each to their own. :nenau
They pick up early on wet roads.

saw those to

yeah i saw those as well and for that very reason its why im thinking the hancocks a bit more rubber on the road, we never had an issue with our old m/t on the old patrol on wet roads or ice at the end of the day i think its down to driver skill as much as tyres.

A/Ts are good very good i just think the lwb terrano needs a better looking tyre lol the tyres on there at the moment are all good with the exception of the front off side which has been wrecked by a worn lower ball joint which arrived today in the post so after work tomorrow i mite have a go at it or be cheeky and ask rick while there doing the clutch friday.

oh and

oh and they match the new bfg on the spare on the back door i think bfg have changed there tread pattern since this was made ? not to sure tho

I have Avon Ranger's with AT and MS in small letters on the sidewall, they are not tyres that I would have chosen! but i have been quite pleased with them winter and summer :thumb2
