finally got round to fitting the new switch on the bottom of the barrel :smile: bit of an awkward job trying to get the screw out of the barrel but with a few choice words and a modified screwdriver soon got it sorted,all works fine but now the heater only works on full speed so must be the resistor but thats a job for another day :cry:
 
The heater is an easy problem to solve m8...simply remove the two self tappers securing the rheostat card .....close to the heater blower unit under passenger side of dash.

Seperate the card from the electrical 'socket'thingy...you will see that the 'track' on the card will have a burnt-out spot where it has overheated....I cleaned this up with a little emery paper and bridged the gap using a little solder...plugged it back up and bobs yer unc...heater working on all 4 speed settings again.. :smile:

thanks mate will have look at that in the morning,will save me a few quid if its an easy fix like that :smile:
