Has anyone ordered one of these from ford?

If so do you have a part number? Was it the right one?

My 2nd hand one has started to play up now, have to go to ford as the nissan dealer is over 50 miles away.

I remember last time speaking to ford they would only order me one if I payed there and then. And if it was wrong would not offer a refund so need to make sure its right. :(

Hang on, you are going to a ford dealer, give them your chassis no etc, they have the facilities to locate the right part no.
Nissan do not recognise the ford chassis numbers etc., this is where you do the leap of faith.

If Ford supply the wrong part, the problem is with them not you.

Ok I understand the need to pay up front, or at least a deposit, since they could be left with it on the shelf if you don't collect, and they have a restocking fee.

Personally, I would offer a deposit, and full payment on collection.

The issue with wrong part numbers is with them.

OR make a phone number to a Ford dealer or a Nissan dealer, when you get the quote say you have been offered a lower price, and get a discount or at least free postage.

I have done this many times,

When you get a quote ask them for the part no. To save them time when you order it later, as you are getting a few quotes.

Note.
Replacing a worn out part with a worn out part is poor economy.I did this with a windscreen pump, within a year I was buying a new one...

depends on how much you can get a worn out one, Last one cost me £2.50. :thumbs

What do they say...

Buy cheap, buy twice.

If I was keeping the car for say a year, then second hand would be fine in most cases.
But as you know, I've had mine 17 years so far.
I intend to keep it a few more years yet though.
