My T2 had some bubbling on the front wing when I bought it:

Friday evening I finally got around to taking off the plastic part, and this was lurking beneath:

I ended up taking off the front wing, gave me the chance to clean up behind:

Tin worms even got above the front wing: this is a view from above the wheel towards the engine (under and behind the air box basically):

I repaired it with glasfiber and resin, as these parts don't carry any weight and I did not have access to someone who could weld it up for me at short notice. Task for tonight is sanding the (small) visible part of the glassfiber, preparing it for respray and add in the new mounting points for the plastic arch.
Other weel arches seem fine - but I did not have the courage yet to take them off

Crikey!!!! Good job you've caught it now!!!!

Looks like mine did when I tried to drill through to fit my snorkel

My NSF wing bubble is even worse, I dread to think what is not left under the plastic trim. My plan is, if I can get her through the MOT next June, I will treat her to two new wings. But I'm not going down that road if it all goes t!ts up next MOT.

The Terrano rust issue scares the cr@p out of me

Considering mine is 17y old, and used almost uniquely for offroad (in a rough shoot), I think it isn't that bad :)

i've got a speed hole like that under my airbox :lol

Didn' mention that one: that same side had a small hole under the airbox, and a bigger hole (after cleaning all the rust away) just behind the airbox.
Anyway, patched up now:

I checked the other front wing: some bubbling under the plastic wheel arch trim, around the holes. Nothing urgent, it can wait until after the shooting season. I'll probably replace both front wings next year, if I find suitable replacement parts.

Top job!!!! Wouldn't even tell it had been repaired:eek:

What's it like face to face, does it look as good as it does in the pictures

I wouldn't call it a top job myself, up close you can tell I repaired it :)
Mostly because I didn't find the correct paint, so had to go for standard dark green. Anyway, I bought the car to use it, not as a garage queen.
Somewhere in Spring next year I'll tackle the other 3 wheel arches and the underbody.

replaced my passenger side wing earlier in the year but drivers side one wants doing as there is only the rust holding it together:lol

Good job.:thumb2
The thing is... what ever you can do NOW.. to halt the spread of rust is a good thing, when time is pressing.
Cosmetic work can be done later... if ever...

In the words of Joe Brand... when she was referring to house work...
F*** it... that'll do...

What did you use on the plastic trim to darken it?:nenau

Motip Bumper Spray!
It seems to really go "into" the plastic, without putting a film on top. Also meaning any scratch remains perfectly visible. I've noticed it doesn't stick very well to metal.
Got 2 standard sized spray cans, and after doing the bumpers and wheel arch covers I have about 2/3 of one left.

Is that the black version? Or middle/dark grey?
