Hi when hiclones are fitted you dont get the smoke unless you realy boot it. but my power box made a hell of differance, hence why its not comming off till just before I pick up my new x trail on monday.Carnt wait 173 horse power up to 210 with a box Im toald.

Its faster but also more smoky

You need to check and possibly adjust your boost pressure.

I found that the PSI box gave just a tad too much fuel at tip-in acceleration- that is just off idle before the turbo spooled.

funny all i can see is a mess, can you tell i have no idea what this thread is about lmhao.

I didnt get smoke either. I was warned about it by a bloke at a tuning place nr us. He reckons that if it overfuels and doesnt get enough air to match you'll get a sooty result. As you have k&n thats unlikely.

Where you getting smoke before fitting it? if not it could be the way its mixing ;)

I will clean the MAF and add some ''other products''

I fitted mine last week too - no smoke, but loads more power. Running a stock (fairly new) air filter at present, though my K&N setup should be here soon (thanks daved!)...

please tell me what i'm looking for this is a noobie who is confused because i have not seen a before pic, are you talking about a PSI Powerbox. i'm interested in any mods because i have reached that age where its fun stuck under the hood but i need idiot pics at times lol.

it was here that persuaded me to tackle things head on instead of getting a buddy to do the mechanics when the illusive filter with step by step guide pics.

The Powerbox is a little gadget that fools the ECU and basically gives to around 20-25bph extra plus more torque as well.....there are lots of other, Tunit is another, but you want one that can be adjusted (the Tunit definitely can but not sure about the Powerbox as I don't have one).

They are WELL worth having but you are best looking for a s/h unit first as they are around £400 new!

The Tunit is the size of a matchbox but if you haven't told your insurance company - which would probably whack you - its a good idea to secrete the offending item in case you have an accident and inspection!

All hypothetical of course!

The psi isnt adjustable. probably a good thing in my case, I'd be forever tweaking then get sick of it and leave it set to max :augie:lol

One very very serious point however and I'm definitely not preaching here, please listen to those cin the know.

A very good friend of mine works in insurance fraud detection and used to be a senior motor claims assesor. He is far from infallible but can spot a lot of add on boxes at 10 foot or K&N cones at 50 foot when the bonnets open. Its common knowledge in their industry where a lot of the popular ones go. The Terrano psi is an easy spot. ANY un notified mod from stock spec is a breach of the policy agreement. Some they wont worry about but others partic go faster type they may.

I had to swap insurance company when I coughed to having it fitted, however I got quoted by a broker for "Highway Insurance" who's premium included stock up to "declared engine mods to or less than an estimated 10bhp" That easily covered psi with K&N only problem was that over and above the stock vehicle quote from my last insurer it cost me a whopping extra .......................£23 yes thats twenty three. So dont be put off playing properly kids :);)
