today while I was checking stuff under the bonnet , I noticed a pipe loose wiv a jubilee clip on it , I cant tighten it cos I cant hold a screwdriver properly , but that's not the issue ....

this pipe is quite large diameter and goes from the air filter to the intercooler ... its where it fastens to the intercooler that the bottom of the pipe isn't on properly ....

so ... my question is ..... is this gonna do any damage ?

Briggie if you need a hand with anything mate just give me a shout I live up in liversedge and I pass through brighouse most nights mate

cheers mate :thumb2 , but will it do any damage if I leave it ? . its not on the I/c at the bottom , but its on at the top if that makes sense ?

sounds like the air intake to the intercooler, damage...shouldn't do no, but might cause issues when driving underload/driving hard. Might even affect MPG.

If you need me to pop down and nip it up, I can do mate. That might even be the hissing I said I heard when we were looking last week...

funny thing is clive , since I had the water leak issue fixed , truck runs a lot better now , and does a lot more mpg :naughty

wont do any damage Pete, just lose your turbo boost if it comes off, what happened re the water/head gasket problem, Rick

truck doesn't use any water at all now rick , no overheating even when thrashing it ( not that I ever do lol )..... no leaks :thumb2 ..... except of course for my uninvestigated oil / atf leak

Glad that is all it was then, Rick

must admit im confused mate , particularly after the white froth in the rad , but ... all seems well now , no leaks / overheating , heater lovely and warm .... in fact ive had to turn it down a few times lol..... just the oil leak(s) to investigate now

now the system is operating correctly, yes the MPG and performance will improve. Nipping up the I/C pipe will improve things further but probably wont be noticeable to you.

I wouldn't worry, this can happen with coolant issues or very cold weather etc. My old MX6 did the same after it had been off the road for 5 weeks, gave it a good run, changed the coolant, and it was fine for the next 3 years.
