I broke all three of mu car buying rules this time.

1: Never spend more than a grand on a car. Last time I did that it got seized by the police as a ringer) (it was)
2: Never buy a car from Clacton. Bought my first car from Cackton and it fell to bits on the way home.
3: Never buy anything French. Last French car I had tried to kill me.

Needs two tyres, a headlight bulb, some inside trim sorting out, tax and insurance, and a service, then it'll be good to go. Just sold the Terrano as well so I'm carless for the weekend :(

well under rated cars :thumb2

I had the one with the golf 16v petrol engine in it. What a car. Did 147 000 miles before I got shot and still drove like a good un..............and I suspected it had been clocked before I got it :D

the missus has a renault clio, french as well, i thought i was gonna hate it, and i did for about half an hour!
cracking little car doing 58mpg on diesel:thumbs

Ive had two Renaults. First, was a 1.4 Rt Clio, I loved the car, but it was a money pit. The second was a Renault 5, which was a bit of a banger, but it simply would not die, eventually we had to scrap it due to excessive corrosion.

i like the Peugeots though, we had a small fleet at work and the 406's were really good cars.

Renault Clio is the biggest pile of poo on the planet, I'd rather have a Trabant.:D

Their dealers make Nissan look knowledgeable and RenaultForums is probably the crappiest car site on the net - unless you want to know how to install a frickin sub-woofer or a go-faster stripe.:doh

MInd you, the ONLY saving grace is their NCAP. My missus managed to get off the motorway unscathed after this.

I do hope that the windscreen was broken by an external impact!

nah, mine was the older model, the better one. it was a great car in terms of driving, breaking, comfort and spec BUT it was poo in terms of stupid to fix, expensive parts, hard to find parts, cost me a friggin fortune but i still loved it. It had tons of space, was VERY quick, not bad economy too. I wouldnt have another, and i wouldnt have a newer one with the ECU problems, no thanks!

oh yes. by a dead drunk pedestrian in the middle of night on the motorway.

Drunk pedestrians are a big problem, apparently around 70% of pedestrians involved in RTAs are drunk which skews the so-called accident stats artificially.

One of our daughters was asleep on the back seat as well the and coppers said that had she been doing 10 mph faster or slower he would have gone through the windscreen and taken one or both of them out as well....to this day I swear, if he hadn't died, I would be stamping on his fricking head.....not to mention his mates who cast him loose at the end of a pi55-up and let him walk four miles to the motorway when completely off his face.

cant be any worse than a tata l*nd r*ver just think built in a clearing in jungle by semi illerterate people .....jeese build quality can only go up!!!!!!!
