How do I know my front hubs are disengaging? Recently my fuel consumption has increased and I have noticed tyre wear on inside edge of tyre and I have been suspecting that the auto lock hubbs are not disengaging back to free wheel mode. I jacked a wheel at a time up at the weekend and manually turned the wheel in normal direction and observed that the drive shaft and prop shaft are turning (happens with both sides). Is this normal? Should the wheel not freely rotate?

Let your handbrake off :lol :lol :lol

Cheers - sounds like the solution, less compicated than I suspected.

wheels should run freely without drive shafts moving.
until they engage.

try turning drive shaft with wheel on floor they should turn bout half a turn if working right... probably just need a good clean
