Just been green laning on Salisbury Plain, and apart from not having a Low Gear the main problem is grounding.
Does anyone now how to lift the X Trail a bit higher?

A crane?

Fork truck?

But seriously I beleive spacer kits are available that space out the strut mountings but also correct the camber at the same time.

how come you didnt tell me, i could have come along aswell!

sorry no idea, but will have alook at one when i can,.. see if its similar to the T2 springs and tortion bars. any one know

bigger wheels / tyres and a bit of cutting on the body then..

I dont want to sound like a biff but I thought raising the body (apart from posing) was for the really rough stuff.

But as you havent got the low ratio set up (I didnt know that :bownever looked much at x trails) surely you aint going to be playing in the rough stuff

I always thought the x trails were soft roaders/caravan towers/estate cars so is it worth it ;)

The group did indeed look down at my X Trail - as the club is mostly Landy's and Pajero's and they all waited for me to get stuck in the first 30 mins.
However I made the whole course, apart from 1 very deep puddle (over the footwell) and their opinon was changed by the end of the day.
The X trail handled well, even when everything stopped in front and I was left in a river on loose gravel. Backed up and heavy foot easily climbed out when ahead was clear. (I think it was done to see if I would get stuck!)

hay i see PJ in th epics, so I guess was with the 4wheeldriveclub then..

Zippy a lot of that course looks familier.

Same sort of place as when we went.

Respect mate:clap:clap

A bit higher ground clearance and some good tyres, it would be interesting to see what it would do.

Correct Zippy, it was with PJ and the Fourwheeldrive Club. Good fun.
