Hi there. New here. Just got a 2.7 2002 long wheelbase, to help me through the Derbyshire winter..
Front section Exhaust was sheared at the flexi. Remarkably I have successfully removed it without shearing any of the three exhaust manifold bolts! :)

Now it comes to fitting the new one, the old bits came off easy as they were in two pieces.
Seems the new one wont go on without removing or unfastening some other parts.

Any advice?
Looks like the front prop shaft is a likely candidate, maybe just dropping the front of it?

Thankfully this is my spare car so I can still get about.
if anyone can advise it would be much appreciated!

I can't help, but I will read this thread with trepidation, as I have to do the same bit on my T1 next week...

how did you get the nuts off with out shearing the studs?

It can be fitted without prop removal but is very tight some people remove the prop to make it easier but ive done several without.Welcome to the club

I've done a search on here, search appeared after I'd joined.

I've got the car driven up onto some big stones so the front is in the air about 6 inches- sounds iffy but its really safely parked.

I sprayed the studs with a plusgas formula A release agent - recommended by my motor factor as much better then wd40. Accidentally due to time constraints it had 24 hours soak.
With long extensions and a UJ you can get at the three nuts with a 14mm socket. They came off suddenly with an extension bar. Once loose they turned really easily. Perhaps they are not the original 2002 studs!

The M10 bolts at the rear turned about 2 turns and then sheared, as did the U clap but they are easy to replace.

So now I have to drop the front prop shaft to get the new pipe in. Perhaps also the gearbox cross member - judging by the posts I searched the gearbox wont drop down as I feared if I remove that!

I'll post how it goes.

I had mine replaced. They removed the cross member below the gearbox but nothing else.

I had mine done this week. It will go past the prop shaft with a big pry bar and tap it with a hammer. It will go without damaging anything. Nuts came of mine with no penetration fluid, but they were warm as engine just been turned off. You've done very well, No way could I have done it.

I had my downpipe done on the 3.0, they removed the front prop only

progress.
Just dropped the front of the prop shaft and it went in easy.
I could get at all the propshaft bolts without it needing to turn, so itll go back the same place.
