how many keys???

I have a Maverick GLS 7 seater P-reg TDi. How many keys should this have and is it remote locking.
I only have one key with a red top and a light which i thought is remote locking but nothing happens.
The Maverick only has one lock (drivers)

usually remote central locking.... you can try a remote fob from ebay then follow the downloads to program the new fob... simple job

didnt work on mine though, not sure if ive got an aftermarket alarm or ford fitted there own alarms (or nissan fitted fords own alarms)

but id guess the standard nissan fob from ebay will work fine, no one else has complained of the problem i had...

maybe someone on site has a spare fob for sale

but get a spare key cut too when you get time.... you never know when you will loose your key

If its the same as my P reg terrano with one lock, it should have two keys each with a fob for the central locking. The key and the fobs are separate and the fobs have two buttons, one to lock, the red one , and one to unlock. I have seen them for sale on ebay. regards....bri

How did you get on?

I have just purchased 1997 Ford Maverick GLS LWB and only had the set in photo supplied.

I have phoned around different main dealers asking how to get a spare set and been told various options including get key from Ford and get Nissan to do program to vehicle.

Just spoke to another Ford dealer and been told cost of keys around £25 and to have the programming done will cost £98 for labour!

Sorry photo came out huge! Oh! by the way the key has a red plastic piece on end.

should have a little stamp saying the MHz, my jeep uses 433.92 MHz and i got another 3 from ebay and did the programming from key fob pdf file which is on this website in the downloads section.

this is the seller i bought all my fobs off, should get it for £5.

I have taken a photo and I am pretty sure it looks like a 418 MHZ do you agree? Not sure why these photos come out so huge!

need someone to confirm 5WK4 718 does not matter as the above is 5WK4 782, i went for the the right mhz.

i have to apologise i actually got a spare 5WK4 600 433mhz fob, as i'm on 5WK4 782 418 MHz.

So can anyone confirm what fob I need to make sure I get - has it got to be exactly as written on mine and not just the Mhz?

I got a spare key cut at Timpsons, cost me £20. My only key was slightly bent as well so I expected to have to visit Ford for a replacement.

I don't have the fob key, is there any way I can find out the frequency my car works at ?

Have a look under the dashboard drivers side just to the n/s of the steering wheel a box with the freq (You might need a torch though)
