Milners describe them both as idlers and other than one being bigger they look very similar.
Are the bolts likely to be rusted up and snap where they bolt to the chassis?

I've was getting an odd rumbling sort of noise on the motorway that calms down when I slow down to around fifty. with the noise I do get a sort of vibration. So this morning I jacked up each wheel in turn to check for movement. Both front wheels seem to have a little movement when I have my hands top and bottom. However grab sides and I can feel and see the steering arms moving with the NS smaller idler seeming to have a lot of movement that I wouldn't expect. I need to jack the other truck to compare. I took it for tracking a few weeks ago and the bloke said that he couldn't as there was movement in the linkages but couldn't elaborate as he didn't know much about these trucks so this may be normal. He also said that the tracking was fine. I didn't get charged so not too worried about his diagnosis but having the noise I decided to dig a bit further.

there are 2 idlers on milners one is for left hand drive trucks the other is for right hand drive trucks, the play will be in the ball joints that are on the relay arm, its a common problem and they dont last very long at all i had an uprated one made from makeit fit and also had the steering idler uprated at the same time, the play in the wheels could be the bearing need nipping up a bit again an easy enough job to do yourself.

Well until I've compared the NS on the other truck I won't know for sure. Biggest worry I have is the bolts being rusted up and snapping.

Problem I've got is that the car is booked by its reg number into an event I'm attending next weekend. Typical cos this will be a pain.

I replaced mine last year easy enough to do.Idler arm from Milners needs the bolt holes bored out if I remember.
