I also paid mine off at the start of this week and I can't begin to describe the feeling even though I only got a few pence change out of £100k on one part of the mortgage :nenau

I paid nearly all mine except a little under £500.00 which I owed for five years.
The reason for the £500.00 was that there was an early redemption fee of £190.00 if I paid the whole amount. So I paid them £2.04 a month until I had one year remaining & then they got the £496 & what ever pence was owed. Thus saving me around £90.00. Better in my pocket than theirs
My mortgage was with the Alliance & Leicester which owned by Santander.
I quite enjoyed the fact that it cost them money to keep my mortgage going for the last remaining years :lol
