hippo needs hoses

need to take spares pack for trip to sahara but ford and nissan say they no longer do coolant hoses for my 97 mav 2.4 petrol - any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is either secondhand pipes :? or if you have the pennies replace the ones you've got fitted for a set of silicone samco hoses which should'nt let you down & carry the old set as a spares

Try the people who sell silicon hoses like samco, see if they can do you a set or at least bits to make up a set. If they can, probably best to fit the silicon ones and take your old ones as spares.

spoke to my closest samco stockist and if there is enough demand they may do the tooling and produce them!
still too late for this trip though.
back to square one

Hello and welcome to the club Hippo.

Why not just get a full, used set from a 2.4 that someone is breaking?.
You should be able to visible check if there in a good condition.

I think you would have to do a lot of miles and be very, very unlucky to get two burst pipes / hoses on one trip.

I do understand that you don’t want any problems on your trip.

I've heard/seen a silicon type of tape you can get to cover the whole pipe. I don't know if it would be of any interest to you :? I think it was Demon tweaks who was selling it
