Hi,
i'm from Corley nr Coventry and i am just about to collect (tomorrow) my first Nissan Terrano

i'm changing from a Daihatsu fourtak because the boot isnt big enough for the dog, boots, gun etc ! (sad to see it go :( )

i'm getting a 1996 Terrano LWB 2.7 SE Touring and i paid £1400 (suppose i'll get told i paid to much now!)

My question is DOES IT HAVE A CAM BELT, A CHAIN OR IS IT GEAR DRIVEN?????

as the last few years service history is bit patchy i'll be giving it a good service and was wondering it i need to pay attention to the cam belt/ chain or not???

also where are all the grease points?? (if any??)

Welcome

Welcome to the club mate.
Believe me that isnt a stupid question for this site
Thez plenty on here will ansa your queries.
Fourtrak's a good motor to follow mate. Hope the Terrano duz you as well.

Hello krazykayaker and welcome to the club! The Terranos are good old fashioned gear driven as far as i know(and thats not alot!!).
That price is good, hope its been looked after!! i'm sure it will now!
Best to change the fluids, remember the rear diff needs Limited Slip Diff oil!!
Enjoy!!

Hi Krazykayaker & welcome to the club  The engine is gear driven so you will have no snapping timing belt or worn out chain adjuster to worry about :p As your going to give it a good going over I would say change the rear diff oil (LSD oil) & check & clean the mini filter as it'll make a difference to your MPG & performance for the better  If you have a look in the download section you will find a write up & pics on how to do it plus loads of other stuff
As for grease points you will find them on the prop UJ's

thanks for the replies, i'm sure i'll be a regular on here asking lots of questions!!
