I'm looking for advice on how to realign my front and rear bumpers please.
I'm struggling to get the gaps between body and bumpers closed up and symmetrical, they look like they are dropping off and it's really irritating me.
I keep feeling tempted to throw them away and make some but it's a good looking truck when its had some spit and polish and I don't want to ruin it, so I'm asking for some help and advice please :D:thumb2

I've found that gently nudging a robust tree is perfect for some fine tuning, but I'm not too sure that it'll work for you!!! :)

Think you will find the metal reinforcer behind the plastic is bent or more likely rusted more on one side than the other, Rick

Yeh they're not rusted so hopefully bending them up a bit or whatever will make some difference, its a fiddly job and I hate fiddly jobs.

The plastic clips that the bumpers slide into also stretch and cause the sag.
When I had standard bumpers I opened up the holes on the plastic clips and lifted them to re align the saggy corners.

Ah I know which you mean, yes they have a bit of droopage :D

On one side that plastic clip is broken. Crap idea that is. Build yourself a steel bumper pal:D
Done nowt with mine

wheh i rebuilt frontend on green terry i reshaped steel reinforcer as was so rotten,it took a lot of weld shaping.
when i refitted front bumper i had a job to get it to a good alighnment so after a bit of time i still was not happy but front was good to grills but sides not so on the car i cut the new steel i had welded on the bit that goes to the arch fixing and got the bumper into a good position then cut a small metal strip to match and clamped it and again got bumper to good gaps then welded in new strip,so when finished it all lined up front sides and gaps.all solid and look great.

Those side bits are the worst on mine, I will call in at one of the local fab places and scrounge some plate incase I need to do the same :thumb2

i used the steel from an old storage heater and it was a good thickness.it took me a day on 1 side though.
the new owner called it lucinda and has posted a few picks on here.
